What do we do

At Dronecoria we want to develop a forestry technology updated to the 21st century, which allows entities and companies to be able to carry out efficient reforestations of high value, low cost, and build a community around them to form a new economy of ecological restoration.

And we want to do it collaboratively and openly. That is why we publish everything we research and develop, and that is why we encourage anyone on this same path to know us, find us, talk and cooperate. Together we can green the world.

Open technologies

Technological solutions for direct forest planting. From our drone carrying 10 kg of seeds, to a seed pelletizing machine. All Open Source Hardware. Ready to download, replicate and start reforesting.

Open science

Research on forest seed improvement. Improve and protect your forest seeds so you can successfully green your environment. All Open Cience. Ready to learn, replicate and start reforesting.

"La naturaleza no planta arboles, siembra bosques"

Our relationship with nature is that of an apprentice with his teacher. We observe, admire, copy and try to help by making tasks easier, and letting her do the rest. We move forward trying to find our place between heaven and earth.

"Para nosotros Open Source no es una elección, es un principio"

We face challenges with digital manufacturing technologies and the Open Source philosophy as principles. We don’t want to own machines that plant thousands of trees. We want to teach thousands of people to plant thousands of trees”

"Este es un reto enorme que nadie puede afrontar solo"

We want to be replicable, we want to be inspiration and be inspired, we want to meet among those of us who think the same way and walk nearby. We want to have no borders or a single language. We want to create a global platform to green the world we inhabit.

How we finance ourselves

Resources are always limited, but at Dronecoria we know how to take advantage of what we have. Over the past few years we have managed to move forward using different funding pathways ranging from private donations to Crowdfunding. Here under we explain them to you.

But above all, if we can do everything we do, it is thanks to the people who cede their time and knowledge to the project without asking for anything in return. If you have a minute, stop by the “Who are we” section to meet them.

Donations

Funding us with donations is difficult, but it gives us a lot of freedom to work for the common good.

If you like what we do, and you want to help us keep doing it. Visit our Donate page, you can make a one-time donation, or a monthly donation. We promise to keep you informed of everything we achieve thanks to your contribution.

contests and calls

Introducing (and winning) competitions, as well as helping us test and improve our proposal, is serving us to fund us.

Since the beginning of Dronecoria this is the contests we have won.

ecosystem services

The money we get by offering related services helps us move forward with our goals. In addition to paying wages and expenses, we always have something left to invest in open source R&D.

April 2021: We moved our Lab

We spent the whole month of March moving the seed lab where we conducted our germination experiments, seed improvements, and where our millions of seeds sleep, to another much wider and brighter space. The municipality of Pitres gave us the offices of the former...

March 2021: We publish our first book!

Well, we didn't write the whole book, but two chapters 🙂 In 2015 we went to Chiang Mai University in Thailand, to the Forest Restoration Research Unit, and participated in a workshop ahead of its time: Automated Forest Restoration. Can Robots Revive Forests? We shared...
